Cowes Week 2024

Among the many festivals and events we have enjoyed this summer so far, July saw the Invent team head over to the Isle of Wight for our yearly pop up Cowes Week. Having swapped grisling skies and rain in London for the warming sun and gentle sea spray of Cowes, setting up was a breeze. Sharing a stand with the lovely Chloe of Tucca Swim was a delight as always, and our friends at both Andy’s Maritime Antiques and Nick from the British Virgin Islands Tourism were a welcome sight- as was the rum supplied by Nick!
As usual, our Bucket Hats were adored by all, and it was great to see so many familiar faces wearing old favourites, like the Polarised Rincon Sunglasses from last year. A few people had even come back for a second pair!
Everyone loved our new summer products, with the Cotton Shorts flying off the shelves faster than we could restock them! Our newly released Turtle T-Shirts - designed by owner Piers himself - were a huge hit, and we were excited to hear that many people wanted them in children’s sizes too.
Cowes week holds a special place in our hearts, as at various points each year the whole Invent team is able to go and join in the festivities. This year did not disappoint, with our old haunts such as The Garden, and PO41 Coffee House still standing, alongside brand new restaurants, shops and cafes. We particularly enjoyed seeing the new food and wine bar The Blind Tiger behind the Esplanade, recently opened by Glynn, who also runs Cowes Week.
We loved meeting so many different people, and feel so lucky to call Cowes week “work”!
